Concrete and Paver Cleaning in Menands

We clean the flat hard ground around your home exterior: concrete walks, paver patios, stone steps and the slab by the garage. A spinning flat cleaner keeps the result even, and we tell you up front which stains will come out and which will only fade.

What this cleaning does and when it makes sense

Concrete and pavers are porous. Dirt, mildew, tire marks and winter salt residue work into the top layer and turn it gray or green. A garden hose won't reach that. We lift it out with water pressure set for the material, plus a pre-treatment where it's needed.

It's the right call when your walks look dark and blotchy, when shady spots stay slick after rain, or when you want the front of the house to match the rest of your curb appeal. If the concrete is cracked or heaving, cleaning won't fix that, and we'll say so before we start.

What the job includes

A walk-around first

We look at every area with you and point out stains, loose pavers and cracks. You hear what we expect to come out clean before any water runs.

Pre-treatment for growth

Green and black spots in shady areas are usually mildew or algae. We apply a cleaner that loosens it so it rinses out instead of smearing.

Spinning flat cleaner

A handheld wand leaves light and dark stripes on concrete. Our rotary machine spins at an even height over the ground, so the whole area dries one color.

Spot work on stains

Oil drips, rust marks from fertilizer and leaf tannins each need a different treatment. We work them separately and tell you honestly how far each one came up.

Edges, steps and rinse-down

We hand-detail steps, edges and corners the machine can't reach. Then we rinse siding bottoms, plant beds and lawn edges so nothing is left behind.

Signs your walks and patio are due

  • Slick spots after rain

If a shady walk feels slippery when wet, there's growth on it. That's a safety issue more than a looks issue.

  • Gray or green patches

Concrete that started out light gray turns darker in uneven patches. Most of that is dirt and mildew sitting in the pores.

  • White haze or salt marks

After a winter of rock salt, many slabs carry a white crust near the garage and front steps. Leaving it there can speed up wear on the top layer.

  • Weeds and moss in paver joints

Growth in the joints holds moisture and pushes pavers apart over time. Cleaning clears it so you can see whether the joints need fresh sand.

How the day goes

  1. 1

    Prep and protect

We move planters and mats, cover outlets and low lights, and check where the water will run. You don't need to be home if we can reach an outdoor spigot.

  2. 2

    Pre-treat and dwell

Treated areas sit for several minutes so the cleaner can work. We keep it off plants and rinse nearby beds with plain water.

  3. 3

    Clean and detail

The rotary machine covers the open areas in overlapping passes. Steps, edges and stains get handwork after that.

  4. 4

    Final rinse and walk-through

We rinse the whole area, put your things back and walk it with you or send photos. Most areas are fine to walk on once they dry.

What moves the price

We price each job by what we see on your property, not a flat guess. You get a written quote that lists each area separately. Here's what changes the number.

Square footage
A short front walk and a large back patio are very different jobs. We measure each area so you can choose what to include.
Material and condition
Plain concrete is the simplest. Pavers, stamped concrete and natural stone take lower pressure and more care, which takes longer.
Stain treatment
Oil, rust and deep organic stains need their own treatments and extra time. If a stain probably won't lift fully, we tell you before you pay for it.
Access and water
Long hose runs, steep steps or a spigot far from the work add time. Tight spots along the house get handwork.
Joint sand
Cleaning paver joints can wash out loose sand. If yours need re-sanding afterward, we quote that as a separate line.

Questions about cleaning concrete and pavers

Something not covered here? (518) 754-0572

Will this damage my pavers or stamped concrete?

Not when the pressure is set for the material. We run lower pressure on pavers, stone and stamped concrete and let the pre-treatment do more of the work. If an area is already flaking, we point it out first and adjust or skip it.

Can you get an oil stain out completely?

Sometimes. Fresh drips usually come up well. Old stains that have soaked in for years often lighten a lot but leave a shadow. We'll tell you which kind you have during the walk-around.

How long until I can use the walk or park on the slab?

You can walk on it as soon as it's dry enough not to track water, often within an hour or two in good weather. We suggest waiting until it's fully dry before parking or putting furniture back on pavers.

How often should this be done?

Most homes around here do well with a cleaning once a year, often in spring after the salt and leaves are gone. Shady patios that grow mildew fast may want it more often.

Who does the work, and are you covered if something goes wrong?

Our own crew does the work. The company is licensed and insured and has been in business 5 years. Ask us anything about our coverage when you phone.
